"It is super extraordinary that we as students get the opportunity to feed and take care of a moose."
“I never saw a moose before I set foot in Norway. On my first day my roommate took me to Idun and it was amazing to see a moose this close.
On a party one of the students asked me: Do you wanna feed the moose? A bit tipsy as I was at the time, I said yes. And before I knew it, I was part of the feeding team. Now 6 months later, I still enjoy feeding Idun. I learned working with a chainsaw, made some friends and I love the walk to her enclosure. All because of Idun. Some friends visited me in the summer and feeding Idun with me is one of the things they will remember for a long time. It is super extraordinary that we as students get the opportunity to feed and take care of a moose.
For me and a lot of other internationals, Idun is the first and sometimes the only moose people will ever see in Norway.
To close my statement, the moose is iconic for this region. And what school can say they own a moose?”
